New, Umineko-friendlier ONScripter

Hi again,

I wouldn’t normally make a new ONScripter-EN release (onscripter-en-20100309) so soon after the last one, but this one has a nice fix that removes the enormously long startup time for the Umineko games, so it seemed worth releasing right away.

ONScripter Fixups

Once again, here’s an ONScripter-EN release (onscripter-en-20100307), this time with a number of bugfixes, optimizations, and plugged memory leaks, as well as a few more compilation/configure options – check the changelog for details.

There are also some compatibility fixes for a few novels in the al|together festival series, which I started testing after some prompting on the Bug Reporting page.  You’ll want to give this one a try on “A Dream of Summer”, hobbes!

And lo, a new PONScripter release approaches on the horizon… but I must leave you in suspense for now.  Back to it!

Testing…

The ONScripter Corner had to make a sudden move to a new host, and it looks like comments aren’t working at the moment.  We’ll try to have the problem corrected soon.

Uncle Mion

Update: It’s fixed! But apparently I’m not getting notification emails about comments, so please excuse me if I haven’t responded yet…

Update II: Email notification is fixed now!

ONS-EN Release du Jour

Here’s another ONScripter-EN release (onscripter-en-20100221) with embedded “ons-en” icon for Windows, a few minor features, and some bugfixes, like for Japanese filename handling on Vista/Windows 7.  Back to PONScripter!

Another ONScripter bugfix release

Just made a new bugfix release for ONScripter-EN (onscripter-en-20100130) to correct a problem with creating new save files, which was introduced in the last release (oops).

Quickie ONScripter bugfix release

I’m currently working on updating PONScripter (honest!) but here’s a little bugfix release for ONScripter-EN (onscripter-en-20100117).  We’ve also put together some icons for ONS-EN, though for now only Mac OS X has them included as an application resource.

Yet another ONScripter release

New release of ONScripter-EN (onscripter-en-20100107), including refinement of non-QWERTY keyboard handling, a few new NScr commands, some bugfixes, yadda yadda, take a look at the CHANGES.

Oh, I also added PNG image file support to the ONScripter Tools conversion programs, so now PDA users can  do a proper size conversion of NSA archives for games that use PNG files.

Anyway, that’s all for now, I needs me sleep.

Happy New Year, have some ONScripter

To celebrate the New Year, here’s a new release of ONScripter-EN (onscripter-en-20091231).

It’s got bugfixes for the ONScripter Tools ns2make and ns2conv, support for commenting in ‘ons.cfg’ (start a line with ‘#’), a bit of support for keypresses on non-QWERTY (but still Latin-based) keyboards, and some new NScr commands – take a look at the CHANGES for more details.

Here’s hoping for even more progress in 2010!

ONScripter release with nicer tools

The latest ONScripter-EN (onscripter-en-20091227) has some bugfixes and new features (like ‘m’ sound volume mute toggle), but mainly there’s a bunch of new ONScripter Tools and features for them.  Take a look at the Releases page.

A major new addition to the archive conversion tools is the option of providing a file-matching rules file, which allows telling how many cells/alphas an image has for the purposes of doing cleaner image resizing.  Look at this rules.txt for examples.

I’ll start providing rules files for various games on the Compatibility page as they become available (Umineko’s there already), so let me know if you get together a good set of file-matching rules for PDA-converting your favorite (O)NScripter games.

ONScripter release, now with tools!

Check the Releases page for the latest ONScripter-EN (onscripter-en-20091215), which now has a 64-bit Linux build, as well as ONScripter Tools, a set of programs for working with packaged (O)NScripter script files and archives.

The original Japanese ONScripter has provided these sorts of tools for some time, but I’ve finally got them built, updated and working with ONScripter-EN.

Oh, and with this ONScripter release, you can use the ‘f’ fullscreen toggle during movie playback, play XM/MOD files using the “play” command (instead of just MIDI), and provide a gameid via ‘ons.cfg’ or the command-line.

Now back to PONScripter!
